David Hickson, Managing Director and owner of the Aerocare International group, signed the Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP) Charter at the Farnborough Airshow this year at the invitation of Aerospace Wales Forum and AGP. The AGP is a strategic partnership between UK government and industry working to secure the future of the industry. The Charter aligns Aerocare with the AGP’s stated intent to develop productivity, skills and capability to meet a growing global production and MRO shortfall which is currently outstripping UK supply chain growth.
The Charter now has over 100 signatories each of whom undertakes to increase UK cooperation and to support government supported, industry-led initiatives. Aerocare already has a number of apprenticeships in operation, in addition to R&D programmes, and through its group interactions seeks economies of scale wherever possible. The group is already looking towards increasing its R&D footprint significantly in 2019.
