Join Our Team – Mobile Borescope Engineer

Job Purpose

In the role of Borescope Engineer, you will play an important part in the continued development of our agile and dynamic mobile borescope inspection team travelling to locations primarily in EMEA, however as the scope of the business grows, this could expand to other regions.

The intent of our business is to continue to develop and present to market new digitised BSI turnkey solutions in support of Lessors and MROs and progressing to Maintenance shop support activities as our business continues to develop its support portfolio.

Main Duties and Responsibilities to Include:

  • Carrying out depth Borescope inspections both ‘On and Off Wing’ for a/c returning from lease
  • Formulation condition reports
  • Managing preparation and on-site customer communications
  • Liaising with OEM technical support to progress report content
  • Formulation and issue of Form 1 certificates on completion of each inspection
  • Management on rotation of the ‘Maintrol’ activity hub ensuring all customer events are progressing to the correct standards
  • Ensures all maint & calibration requirements for all tooling & equipment
  • Partakes in an ‘On call’ duty roster
  • Other duties as directed by Line Manager
  • Can operate for extended periods of time away from home/base whilst deployed in field

 Person Specification

Essential:

  • Customer focused
  • Capable of managing customer demands and relationships both at base and in the field
  • Holds a good Technical understanding of Civil engine platforms
  • Ability to manage complex customer discussions both at the event location and on-line
  • Demonstrates professionalism at all times in representing the company with key client accounts
  • Has an in-depth understanding of CAA/FAA & EASA regulations and standard practices required in support of Engine inspection events.
  • Holds a full driving licence and current passport
  • Willing to travel

Desirable:

  • Ideally the candidate will have extensive experience/approval on CFM56 series, V2500, LEAP-1A/B, PW1000 series. Additional experience/approval on other engine types such as CF6, Trent, GenX, GE90, CF34, RB211 engines maintenance & Inspections would be also of great interest
  • A good knowledge in the use of Olympus NX or Mentor borescope equipment and scopes
  • Has previous experience in formulating inspection condition reports
  • Has excellent PC skills
  • Previous experience of away from base working and travel withing a technical 145 environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the use of and deployment of Next Gen Borescope equipment and techniques
  • Is qualified as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (All supporting training certificates must be available)
  • Holds a current CAA & EASA B1 license (preferred but not essential)
  • Is current on all required competencies such as Human Factors etc
  • Holds an approved/recognised borescope approval and is recency is up to date.
